Throwing and shot put disciplines

General
Shot put facilities on running tracks or on regional school sports grounds should be equipped for use by those with disabilities   by ensuring that the athletes can attach and secure the throwing chair without any great effort. Please see our similar offers for wheelchair-accessible throwing rings as well as the corresponding accessories.
Concrete accessories can affect aluminium and should only be used in exceptional circumstances. If you are going to use such accessories, we recommend coating the parts cast in concrete with bitumen paint.
All W & H shot put rings correspond with IAAF regulations.
Material
The throwing rings (available in various designs) are made of stable right-angled aluminium profiles.
Design
All throwing rings are designed in two parts and are screwed into place on site using the accompanying screws and nuts. The fact that there are no struts (which are not needed thanks to the sturdy aluminium ring profiles) makes installation easier

General information on our discus rings
Discus rings are available in different designs, for on-site casting in concrete or as a precast concrete element. The advantages of precast concrete elements compared with solutions cast in concrete on site include: Functional abrasion of the surface in the throwing ring (ideal for use in sports), dimensionally accurate design as well as being quick and easy to move. Discus throwing rings should be equipped for use by those with disabilities by ensuring that the athletes can attach and secure the throwing chair without any great effort.
Design
The discus protective grid design consists of thick-walled round aluminium profiles, with boom offsets and power lift device. The systems are moved into sleeves, free-standing systems are only provided as an exception. The protective net complies with IAAF standards and DIN standard EN 1263-1. The nets are made of polypropylene.
Note
After the competition or training session has ended, the protective nets must be let down in order to avoid any damage from storms. In order to move the sleeves for the protective grid structure, we will provide you with an installation template. Concrete admixtures can affect aluminium and should only be used in exceptional circumstances. If you are going to use such admixtures, we recommend coating the parts cast in concrete with bitumen paint.

General information on our hammer throw rings
Our hammer throw rings meet IAAF specifications and are available in various different designs, for casting in concrete or as a precast concrete element. The advantages of precast concrete elements compared with solutions cast in concrete on site include: Functional abrasion of the surface in the throwing ring (ideal for use in sports), dimensionally accurate design as well as being quick and easy to move.
Recommendation
The same rings are prescribed for the hammer throw as for the shot put, i.e. they should have a diameter of 213.5 cm.
Since the discus discipline is usually also practised in the same ring as the hammer throw, we recommend installing a discus ring of ? 250 cm. Hammer throw inlay rings are used to reduce the size to ? 213.5 cm. The throwing rings should be equipped for use by those with disabilities to ensure that the athletes can attach and secure the throwing chair without any great effort.
Design
The hammer throw guard design consists of thick-walled round aluminium profiles, with boom offsets and a net raising device. The systems are put into sleeves; free-standing systems are only provided as an exception.

The protective net meets IAAF specifications and DIN standard EN 1263-1. The nets are made of polypropylene.
Note
After the competition or training session has ended, the protective nets must be let down in order to avoid any damage from storms. In order to move the sleeves for the guard structure, we will provide you with an installation template. Concrete admixtures can affect aluminium and should only be used in exceptional circumstances. If you are going to use such admixtures, we recommend coating the parts cast in concrete with bitumen paint.
